Cultural, scientific and technical cooperation
France is the number one destination for Danish tourists. France is also seeking to promote and modernize the image of the French language in Denmark, focusing on high schools and specialized professionals. France is the 6th destination for Danish students.
Scientific cooperation between our two countries covers all areas of Danish research excellence (environment, micro- and nano-engineering, health, ICT, studies of Greenland). It works primarily through relationships between various Danish and French research centers like the 2006 signing of a partnership agreement between the CNRS and the Danish National Research Foundation. Researchers’ mobility between the two countries is significant: more than 400 CNRS researchers have conducted a mission in Denmark as of 2008.
For the second consecutive year, the France’s Embassy in Copenhagen organized “French Days” in Nuuk (Greenland) from June 5th to 9th, 2011. These five days of cultural, scientific, academic, and economic events, and political talks provided for strengthening future cooperation between France and Greenland. In addition to events organized as part of the operation’s cultural component (including the Frederic de la Mure exhibition, “L’ Œil voyageur” (The Traveling Eye), organized in the City of Nuuk), the two highlights of this second edition were the scientific seminar at the University and the geopolitical conference in Katuaq.
