China – Visit by Laurent Fabius (May 15 to 16, 2015)

Laurent Fabius will visit China on May 15 and 16, 2015. This will be his tenth visit to China since 2012.

The minister will be received by Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang and will open, together with Vice Premier Liu Yandong, the second session of the high-level dialogue on human exchanges. This session will provide an opportunity to demonstrate progress, especially in the educational, academic and sports sectors; a dozen contracts have been signed, notably partnership agreements aimed at strengthening student mobility between our two countries.

In the run-up to Euro 2016, he will meet with specialized Chinese travel agencies.

Laurent Fabius will also meet with Mr. Wang Yi, Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Xie Zhenhua, Special Representative for Climate Change Negotiations. In the run-up to the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, the minister will discuss climate issues with his political interlocutors and will draw the attention of students, the press and civil society to climate issues.

In the economic sphere, the minister will open the 23rd French-Chinese Joint Commission on Trade and Investment. He will meet with Chinese investors as well as the French business community.
