Special session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on the situation in the Central African Republic (January 20, 2014)
France welcomes the holding of a special session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on the situation in the Central African Republic at the request of over 100 states.
The Human Rights Council resolution, adopted by consensus, allows us to keep the international community involved in the CAR’s human rights situation. An independent human rights expert, Marie-Thérèse Keita-Bocoum, has been appointed to this end. She will be tasked with helping the transitional authorities strengthen human rights and reporting to the Council on developments in the situation.
France recalls that all perpetrators of human rights violations will have to answer for their actions before the courts.
