Central African Republic – Attack on MINUSCA (16 January 2024)

France condemns in the strongest terms the attack on the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) which took place on January 15 in Mbindale, located in the Lim-Pendé prefecture, and killed one Cameroonian peacekeeper.

We offer our condolences to the deceased soldier’s loved ones and to the Cameroonian authorities. We wish those who were injured a speedy recovery. Those responsible for this attack must be identified and held accountable for their actions.

France commends MINUSCA’s work and reiterates its full support for its efforts.
