France leads the Western world in terms of the number of businesses established in Cambodia. The French business presence is represented in the form of both investments by leading groups (Vinci, Total, Accor, Bred, etc.) and of the many SMEs set up by French nationals.
Bilateral trade, though still limited, is growing (€202.7 million in 2011, an increase of 28.3% over 2010) but continues to show a deficit for France. French exports consist mainly of pharmaceuticals (37.4% in 2011) and food products (27% in 2011). Garments and textiles account for almost all of French imports from Cambodia (81%).
