Bangladesh - Visit of the Human Rights Ambassador, François Zimeray (May 27 to 28, 2013)
One month after the Savar accident which caused the death of more than 1100 people, François Zimeray, French Ambassador for Human Rights, is visiting Bangladesh on 27-28 May to meet victims’ families and express France’s solidarity.
In Dacca, Mr Zimeray will meet with the stakeholders in modernizing labour law and will recall France’s commitment to compliance with the standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO). He will also visit a manufacturing plant.
On the occasion of his meetings with the authorities, Mr Zimeray will raise all questions linked to human rights. He will discuss in particular the situation of Rohingya people. Lastly, he will give a conference at Dhaka University on the theme of “Human Rights in the context of Globalisation”.
